A new game is upon us! Dungeonborne (formally known as Project Crawl) has officially been announced for a playtest – but what is Dungeonborne? If you’re curious about the upcoming game, we’ll break down everything you need to know about it below!

What Kind of Game is Dungeonborne?

Dungeonborne is a new game joining the PvPvE dungeon crawler / looter genre. The concept of the game is very simple, you dive into a dungeon, fight monsters (and sometimes other players!), pick up loot, and then try to escape alive.

Of course, there’s much more to it than that, but that’s the gist of it. You can think of it as a fantasy version of Escape from Tarkov (the devs have stated they were inspired by the game), with some comparing the game to Dark and Darker. There’s different classes, abilities, items, and much more.

What Classes Are in Dungeonborne?

Currently Dungeonborne features seven different classes – Fighter, Priest, Rogue, Swordmaster, Pyromancer, Cryomancer, and Death Knight. They’re based on classic fantasy, so expect to see fireballs, big swords, stealth, healing spells, and more! There are also currently two races, Human and Undead.

More classes and races will be added to the game in the future, however, as the game is still in early development, many features will be missing.

When is the Dungeonborne Release Date?

Currently, Dungeonborne has no release date. It is still in early development, so there may be quite a wait until full release.

However, there will be many playtests ahead of release, including a week of the demo for Steam Next Fest, which is running from Feb 5-12. We’ll also keep you updated with any news!
